Hemispherectomy

Hemispherectomy is a neurosurgical procedure in which a cerebral hemisphere is removed or disconnected that is used to treat a variety of refractory or drug-resistant seizure disorders.  A hemispherectomy is a radical surgical procedure where the diseased half of the brain is completely removed, partially removed, and fully disconnected or just disconnected from the normal hemisphere.
